Thanks! I'd say that the trick is to just keep writing until you find your voice. That's the cliche advice that anyone who likes writing will give you, but it's true– the whole trick to good writing is having your own style and attitude, and you only develop those through constant practice. I started using music reviews to practice writing around 2004 (when I was 15), and I just got a better and better sense of how I wanted to write over time. Find what sounds right to you. It'll take forever.

I'm a distortion freak so I'm a big fan of that clone of an old Big Muff which sounds unbelievable through a cranked tube amp. But I have a Boss loop station that is suuuuper useful and fun, just the best toy for practicing and songwriting. The vibe pedal is cool for solos and spacey clean stuff. The digital reverb is real nice. But mostly when I play it's just through distortion and fuzz, the dirtier the better

I was going to say your school movies are better then what I got forced to watch but then I saw God's Not Dead. Bad movie class or Christian school?

Google says I already looked at the wikipedia page for that. My mum wanted me to go to a Christian school but I needed to be active church member. Guess I heard about in a Midnight Screenings video.
