That's great - I relate to just enjoying the potentially exciting game of strategy and athletic competition. I root for my home geographic teams (NY) and for or against some other teams, but I'd rather see a great game with any teams than a boring game with my home teams anyday. It's a unique sport that lost popularity in the '90s, glad to see a little more enthusiasm about it recently.
Ah, I just moved to Chattanooga 3 or 4 months ago. It's definitely one of the nicest places I've lived, and a huge step up from the 6 years I just spent in Columbia, SC.
My partner and I are both from West Tennessee and were trying to get back closer to friends and family most of the time we were in SC. Well, she finally found a suitable job in Cleveland at a chemical plant so we immediately made the move. I had pretty low expectations, but the city's pretty nice and the experimental music/arts scene is surprisingly active. I'm surprised that there seems to be more going on here than Nashville when it comes to the sorts of stuff I'm into.
Hey man, I was just reading your review for Soul Mining by The The whilst giving it a listen, and I give you my word, when I got to the first block of lyrics you provided, that just happened to be exactly where I was in the song.
Kind of blew mind mind.
