This is a very charming game. I was going to rate it after I beat it but I'm impatient. Anyways I can't see how its score will decrease by the time I do beat it unless I get terribly bored of the gameplay (which won't happen) or don't like the ending. anyways, as the game plays like a beefed up Pac Man 2, where you control a cursor of sorts and click things to make the main character react to them.
Some people will dislike it but I feel this game has a better chance at winning you over then Pac Man 2, which is a complete stylistic shift from its previous games. This is its own individual entity, styled like an Anime (which I actually thought it was based off of at first) and never released across shores, which is unfortunate but probably a smart move. as charming and cute as this game is I don't see it being a successful commodity here, though it would've most certainly developed a cult following (and has regardless).
As far as the in game content goes, it does get a little grindy. You're goal is to raise the 'gijin' boy Pino (very obviously based on Pinocchio) and it is your job, along with the help of your fairy robot cursor, to raise Pino into a well adjusted lad, and that involves repetitive use of items such as a rubber ball or a trumpet, among other things. This is a minor gripe as it does take a little time to properly raise the ro-boy, but its often funny to see how Pino may first react to some things (including trying to eat the pet cat in some circumstances).
Pino listens to you pretty well unless your trust is abysmal, and it can get difficult to get it back up so a quick hint; save the pudding for when you really need it. Don't just immediately feed it to him like I did, otherwise you'll have to work around his whims and wait for a praise-worthy opportunity to regain his trust. That was bothersome, but once I got the hang of keeping his trust that situation didn't happen again.
I don't recommend pirating games usually, but when it comes to something you'll be unable to play otherwise then yeah, I'd say give this a play, especially if you enjoyed Pac Man 2.
