Kind of the peak of that intangible feeling about wii series stuff. The UI plus the soundtrack and soundeffects create something really soothing. I miss it so much with nintendo nowadays. All their littler releases are so homogenous, the most basic lame ass seethru box and nothing else UI, osts so lifeless too. Its the state of games like modern mario parties and just the switches UI as a whole. Something has really changed.
I agree that this is probably the most "wii" game going as far as ambiance and feel are concerned. Not everything really works becuase of the motion controls but the atmosphere is spot on and they've never really replicated that since. I think Nintendo Land had a lot of effort and soul and the Wii U UI in general had a lot going for it but that didn't really do them any favours financially so I understood why they toned it down for the Switch, even if I don't condone it. It's mad that the most salient aspect of a budget tech demo party game is the atmosphere (and tanks obviously but I think that's been sufficiently covered at this stage).
