Title
In the vein of Soul Reaver, Shadow Man is a game very much of its time. It's impressive in concept and scope, and it was great to finally see a mature and well-developed story on the N64 in 1999. Its gameplay, though, has not aged well, based on needlessly convoluted shifting between two realities and backtracking Metroidvania-style. The game seems intent on leaving the player lost and frustrated in its attempt to appear clever and complex. It's a shame, as like Soul Reaver, another great story is lost to irritatingly archaic game design.
