a level creator akin to what beat saber has would put it toe to toe with that game, but even without it its one of the best vr games out there imo. i bought it for the quest when there were only classic maps but the game where it is right now warrants a full $30
There is nothing like that here. The base levels, the reloaded levels, etc. are all virtually the same: see guy, shoot them to the beat. Sometimes they take 1 hit to kill, others 2, others 4. Pistol whip them if you can. Repeat. It's fun but the non-campaign levels all just feel like one big blur. The big campaigns they added actually felt much more distinctive and unique by adding bosses and new level mechanics. I played them first and then found the original levels so bland and pedestrian by comparison.
It is fun, but I think what makes BS better is the music is much more clearly integrated into the gameplay. I've seen threads on Reddit of people unclear about how they're supposed to play Pistol Whip to the beat, and I think that's a failing of the game's concept.
