Pac-Man

I played this one out of sheer curiosity after reading the story of its disastrous release and.....wow. Everything you've heard is true. The graphics are truly atrocious, but a screenshot doesn't really give you the full scope of just how bad it is - it only sinks in when you see the ghosts moving. The Atari didn't enough power to render all the ghosts at the same time, meaning that each ghost flickers in and out of vision - and the fact that this alone wasn't enough to convince anybody involved that porting the game to this console was a really bad idea is a damning indictment of how little they thought of their customers. It's headache inducing. Pac-Man himself looks ridiculous, as if he was gurning, which is a hell of an achievement for a circle with a mouth and one eye, the fruit powerups have been replaced by plain blocks, and the colour scheme is vomit-inducing. The gameplay itself isn't impaired too much, but it's honestly pretty hard to notice that when it actually hurts to look at the screen.
