Everything about this game from the graphics to the interface is clunky as hell, and yet there's something really engaging about the core formula. Why they decided to add a completely superfluous flight sim and crude 3D replica of California is completely beyond me, but I can't deny it was a little hypnotic getting into the cycle of "Question suspect -> Get new Navcode -> travel -> Question suspect". The investigation process kind of reminds me of Police Quest II, but less strict about protocol and with a more interesting setting. This first game's a bit of a mess, but it does make me excited to try the sequels.
