Lost in Vivo is a low budget indie horror game, with a first person view but its highly influenced by Silent Hill. Its got an enticing premise, I mean who wouldnt chase their pet dog into a hellish sewer system.
While initially the game rellies mostly on its atmosphere, I was surprised at how solid its combat mechanics and even survival horror elements are. Its low poly visuals feel straight out of a PS1 game, and contribute to the spookiness of the setting.
The sound design is excellent and it offers an industrial ambient soundtrack that feels like it could have very well been composed by Akira Yamaoka. Quality stuff that adds a lot to the overall imersion of the game.
There are few enemies throughout its runtime, but each is very unique and require completly different strategies to beat. There are also plenty of puzzles throughout the game, many of which require thinking outside the box. There are also some meta elements that are better experienced in first person.
Despite the short lenght, its very deserving of all the attention it got. Its heavily inspired by Silent Hill yes, but its really the execution of those ideias and the incredible sense of atmosphere that makes this title standout in a very crowded genre.

Does the familiar better than the rest, has its own surprising deviations
A very quality indie iteration on Silent Hill, among other horror genre classics. Despite its familiar appearance, there is plenty in Lost In Vivo that surprised me. Unlike other horror games that attempted to place themselves in the lineage of horror greats, I think there is plenty of inspiration and personal vision that differentiates Lost In Vivo just fine. Look to how the chains swing, how smooth cassettes enter into the player, how the train glides into the station and you will see, beneath the early 3D grime, technical prowess and a unique design aesthetic.

I don't know why but this is genuinely one of the most unsettling games i've ever played. Maybe it's cuz of the sound design, it makes me feel so fucking uneasy while playing this with headphones
It’s a Police Riot Shotgun that shoots Shotgun Shells full of Rock Salt, mainly meant for less-than-lethal/non-lethal tasks, still sucks regardless & I would rather have an actual Shotgun that shoots Buckshot.
Played this when it came out and totally forgot to rate it. It's really cool, and one of the first indie horrors I ever played. It absolutely nails the atmosphere that made games like the original Silent Hill so great.
The only good bits were the music and sound design, everything else is pretty awful. I constantly thought about dropping it. It's a linear walking sim that "tries" to implement "survival horror" elements, but they just sort of feel irrelevant and tacked on since the rest of the game is so uninteresting. Guns and combat are pointless, shitty lockpicking mechanic, there's no health items or hp bar, and there's little to no fear of running out of ammo, to call this a "survival horror" game is a joke. There are frequent bits where you're just sitting there doing nothing or holding shift and w for minutes at a time. And since the majority of the game takes place in an underground tunnel, there's little to no environmental storytelling / points of interest so it's all just painfully drab and boring. The game tells majority of its story through finding random notes, while also spelling literally everything out to you, so when environmental things do actually happen, its symbolism is so painfully obvious it leaves nothing to the imagination. Unless you're fairly new to the the horror genre, I don't see how this game is very scary either. I wanted to like this game so bad since it's been on my wishlist for a while but ugh
I liked the atmosphere but promptly quit the game once it introduced hostile entities that just beeline it straight towards the player while noclipping through walls like, come on

Not sure whats the deal with it, seems to deal less damage overall than the Ruger pistol
