It's really good. The level design may be kind of confusing at first, but you eventually get used to it. The atmosphere reminds me of Fatal Frame and so does the storyline.
My only real complaint is the enemy AI, which can be more annoying than scary. I'm really getting tired of the Outlast formula (run, hide, wait). It's just difficult to explore the environments and get immersed into the game world when there's constantly a monster lurking. Perhaps the game would've benefited more from occasional chase sequences, but the stealth mechanic gets old just too quick.
