J-horror
Genre
J-horror is a style of horror media originating in Japan. It is heavily influenced by old Japanese traditions and ghost stories. The games themselves often focus around ghosts, poltergeists or demons and themes of folk religion, exorcisms and rituals.
Note: J-horror does not mean all Japanese horror games. Resident Evil and Silent Hill games for example are not J-horror. The most famous J-horror games are the Fatal Frame (known as Project Zero in Europe) and Siren (known as Forbidden Siren in Europe) franchises.
