This is one quirky game that came from the Sega genesis back in the day, it's a bit all over the place due to a rather confusing story (that I'm not even sure I'm meant to take seriously) that prevent me from loving it, however I do enjoy myself whenever I revisit this game regardless.
The best part about this game is its presentation, I love the art direction here as it makes you feel like you're watching the world's most disorganised play as you see the front stage scenery and backstage shenanigans that are actually quite typical in theatre acting (trust me I know) which admittedly does get in the way of story progression as it seems like anything can happen at any time without warming. This would be great were if not for the fact that this is meant to be a conventional platformer, I guess there's also little incentive in exploration as there aren't many collectibles to find that give any rewards to the player besides increasing their high score. I also find the head climbing to be rather clunky at points, nothing too serious provided I'm not in danger of being killed by a moving screen, however it happens more than once in each playthrough. On a positive note, though they're completely random, I adore the boss fights as the take full advantage of not only the setting but also the main gimmick if the game, that being heady’s err head powers which he acquires by hitting a power up box which are plentiful throughout the game and always present during a fight. The randomness of which powers are available also adds replay value as you can experiment with different ways of fighting enemies and completing stages with them.
It's a game that could've been better with more focus, however I definitely see why it's considered a classic given what it has to offer.
