Playing through this for this first time right now. First Dragon Quest that I’ve played. Overall very enjoyable, but jeez is the encounter rate atrocious. I swear there have been countless occasions where I’ve ran into at least 4 consecutive battles each within 5 steps of each other. Mind you, this is coming from someone who has played and finished several NES/Famicom RPGs and never had a big problem with the encounter rate in them.
Most people who has played all of them would say PS2. I have only played the DS version, but I own the former in English so I intend to also play that in the future.
