Some of the missions are very hard in a way that is frustrating but i absolutely loved playing this. One of the best times I've had playing any game from the 2010's
the real feeling of Awe that this game can instill in you. The cutscenes and story are great and beautifully done, the graphics are incredible and contribute to how large scale everything feels. The environmental effects really feel like they're on a whole nother level. Cutting through rain and clouds to chase an enemy pilot, man this game feels so good. The whole first half or so is pretty much perfect, with some missteps towards the end, but the giant setpieces make the whole thing worth it.
It's like the creators of this game just distilled fun into its purest form and built a video game around it. Playing and replaying missions just -does not- get old, the graphics are absolutely stunning, the controls and gameplay are as tight as can be...as someone completely new to the Ace Combat series, this couldn't have felt more welcoming or enjoyable and I am now a fan for life.
Honestly one of my favorite gaming experiences, ever. I've rarely been assaulted with this much pure adrenaline and awe from a game before. Cannot recommend this game enough.
very fun entry point behind one of the stories of all time. complete mess of like 5 separate povs which fail to really come together, it's just sorta incoherent.
even despite the messy development period, i can't attribute that to some of the very poor framing considering the series' more conscious entries like electrosphere and zero; the game feels like it's about to set up a rugpull in which you betray osea which are portrayed as incompetent and corrupt (lol convict fighter pilots) but it plays the story completely straight, even after your and your squadron invades a newly independent nation with no oversight, and no ramifications resulting from it[\spoiler].
really hope the next game is better narratively, especially since the multiplayer here is nothing special.
the lighthouse mission needs to be preserved forever. dodging the arsenal bird's attacks with daredevil blasting in your ears brought tears to my eyes. project aces know how to execute finales
Repetitive and boring game with shallow worldbuilding and storylines, i gave up after mission 10. The game is okay for what its trying to do, which is be an arcade airplane shooter, it feels like a 80's game in terms of game design concept, thats alright if thats what they aim to be, a classic arcade game with modern graphics. But to me, i got bored after a while, you can only shoot dots on the screen for a while, thats what this game is basically, you are object X, and you have Z objects scattered on the screen, you need to shoot them, thats it.
