I honestly don't know anyone who has quit gaming, and in fact all signs points toward people playing games for the rest of their lives. And I think the majority of gamers are adults anyway, so there's no shame in it. And it's a really great hobby, so there's that :)
I wish more people knew about The Great and Secret Show, and I really think it's one of those things that if adapted correctly will be regarded as a classic. Have you read the one with Cabal? That's the only one I've read from his Books of Blood. I bought most of his books just because of The Great and Secret Show, I tried starting Majica a couple of times but it's just too daunting, it's a really thick book and it starts out slowly but I've read that it's his best work.
I like Clive Barker's imagination, even Stephen King said he was the future of horror. His works are almost like modern Cthulhu tales but as you've said, more visceral. I bought everything I could find of his every time I went to thrift book stores, the Books of Blood are hard to find and the only one I found was the one that contained Cabal, which according to Wikipedia was the final one. I watched all the Hellraiser films, I really like them even though some of them are uncomfortable to watch, like the one with the police man. The Hellbound Heart is supposedly fantastic, I think it won a literary award too. I guess I'll try and read the Books of Blood starting with the first one, their anthological nature should make it possible for me to finish.
Have you read Everville? It's the sequel to The Great and Secret Show and apparently it's fantastic too, so much so that fans are still eagerly waiting for the final book of the Art.
Oh hey, speaking of Clive Barker, have you played his games Undying and Jericho?
The Book Depository sounds really awesome, I'm afraid to try it because the Postal Office here is known to be corrupt, sometimes stealing stuff and/or charging you for extra if they didn't feel like mailing you your stuff.
I started Undying for a bit a year or two ago and I quit because it was creepy, and that was at the beginning. I'll try to play it again, I don't really mind old graphics, what gets to me though is outdated controls. Jericho upon release I think was critically panned, I still hope Clive Barker returns to the video game world. If you've read Lovecraft, does Clive's stories feel like they're cut from the same cloth or are they pretty different? I'm planning to read on more Lovecraft now after finishing Bloodborne.
I just read that Garden Warfare is multiplayer and co-op only. Does that mean that the co-op will pair me up with someone random online? I don't think I have anyone one my friends list that will play with me.
I played Garden Ops for about 2 hours yesterday. It's ok, but I'm not thoroughly impressed with the game so far. Perhaps I should try it on Normal difficulty now (the lack of tutorial was annoying at first, but I caught on pretty quickly). It's not bad or anything, just seems very limited and not something I would play over more competitive and expansive multiplayer like Planetside 2 or Heroes of the Storm. Not that there's any flaws with the game, it's just too small in what you can do with it. I'll probably try multiplayer before dropping the game.

Also, it reminds me of GnR's "Paradise City" :o
All the best for you
