when are you gonna stop overrating the karelian isthmus simon? i know we all go through that phase as wide eyed neophytes but haven't we evolved past this nonsense?
Thanks! I felt the Romanticism focus of the top # lists required Romantic-era artworks, so I went with ones that felt thematically relevant. John Martin's Pandemonium feels accurate for death metal, Thomas Cole's The Course of Empire: The Savage State feels accurate for black metal, and Caspar David Friedrich's The Abbey in the Oakwood feels accurate for doom metal. The power metal one seems accurate too, but... I forget that one's name and who painted it, heh.
And that's perfectly fine. You always came across to me as interesting, so talking to you even somewhat when possible would be pretty cool :)
And also I've always liked your "Gazing at the Heavens" list as well as the death metal one. I feel like adding you would be a good idea.
