My "collection" on this website is really incomplete. I sort of add to it when I feel like adding and it's not really representative of my tastes. I'm just defending myself a bit.
Yes, I've heard passing mentions of Murdoch's appreciation for Orange Juice, which I suppose is only natural seeing how important Edwyn Collins' band was in setting the scene for Scottish bands back in the early 80's.
For me, Blind is one of those albums that is unfortunate enough to follow in the footsteps of something close to perfection. Reading, Writing and Arithmetic was such a great album Blind was never going to be able to measure up. It's by no means a bad album and, if you're really interested, I recommend it but it will never measure up to their debut.
Wan Light makes me laugh every time I hear it, just that opening melody.'There is a place that I have seen where it's still possible to dream.' Listned to that record a lot this summer as well.
