My ratings are based off a sense of how much a work has ever affected me, ever. The best I've felt about something, hinting at its potential to mean something to you. I'm not one to downgrade records just because I got into some other cooler shit etcetera. I only use five ratings because while rating out of 10 or even out of 100 may have meaning for me, I don't expect anyone else to care. Five simple, expressive perceptions:

***** This feels transcendental, life changing!
**** Feels inspired and inspiring :D
*** Feels solid and satisying :)
** Interests in some way but not wholly satisfying :|
* I haven't seen the appeal of this :(
