My ratings are subject to change at any point. They are mere approximations of how I feel at a particular time. I am even unsure about the scale of my ratings. They would probably be more of use to me than to anyone else happening to look at them.
A guide to my tags (which are not always up-to-date):
? - I'm not sure what my rating is exactly. Maybe a bit higher, maybe a bit lower, maybe the same. Often it's not only a matter of needing more listens, but of needing to listen to more comparable music. This is my most common tag, but if anything I don't give it often enough.
?!?! - For better or for worse, one of the most fucked-up things I've listened to.
(years like 1970, 1971, 1972, etc.) - Self-explanatory. Given if the rating is two and a half stars or higher.
a joke - A funny record on non-musical merits.
amazingly pretentious - Whoever made this had ambitions above their station that couldn't be completely realized in musical form. Expect either a lot of talking, poetry-reading, or theatrics. Not necessarily a bad thing; sometimes a factor in some interesting music.
it's been done... - Mostly a collection of either covers or previously-recorded compositions, and my attitude is that even if they're done well, there was no point to their being made (aside from money). There are some exceptions, but they tend to not get this tag.
maybe later... - I didn't really care about this, didn't bother finishing to listen to it (or rate it), and am not sure if I'll return to it.
revisit... - Simply a reminder to myself to revisit the record.
underrated - Not as self-explanatory as it may seem, in that it has a precise definition: I rated it ***1/2 (thumbs way up) or above, but on RYM it has an average rating of below 3.5.
