I have no clue what you're trying to say. PS: in my view, the first 4 Metallica albums are clear 5s and Black Album is a clear 4.5. I just haven't rated them because I haven't listened to them since opening my RYM account in February.

Also, if you go to my 5s you will see that nearly everything I have rated 5 can comfortably be called "mainstream". My favourite artist of all time is David Bowie for god's sakes.

i guess i am relatively lucky in terms of having the chance to see Japanese artists live, though there have been many times where I haven't been able to catch shows due to familial reasons, and that I regret. I was forced to miss seeing tricot three times, slowdive and mbv's reunion shows, ichiko aoba, and a lot of other shows, if that counts for anything--so I get where you're coming from. here in this corner of the world i wouldn't say the music scene is particularly ripe as well though, so about the live scene its similar. good shows here are sort of rare too.

I hope you get to catch some killer shows in Japan! I didn't get the chance to when I visited Japan, but hey at least the record stores are something. I wouldn't know if Sheena would be on tour....but nevertheless!
