i'm curious about your 2* on the glow, pt. 2 actually. did you not find it worth the listen?

i'm definitely more a fan of soundscaping than lyrics or "energy" or any other large-scale consideration in music, even re: rock music, so I've always thought that was the album's strong point. I didn't even capture the meaning of the big singles on the album until I'd already listened to them a dozen times.

I also didn't really get how wispy and annoying the vocals could be until I asked my brother about the album and his only takeaway was that it was pretty grating for singer-songwriter stuff. Not sure why I've always forgiven it.
