My wife and I are both musicians, and our musical tastes are quite different. We were driving home from one of our rare dates (3 kids) and this song came over the satellite radio. We didn't talk throughout the whole song, and when it was over, my wife says, "Man, he could write a song." I couldn't agree more. What a beautiful song.
ADDENDUM: I'm writing this right after the nominations for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame have been announced for the class of 2009. I'm sorry, but if Bobby Womack and Chic are going to be nominated, how about a little consideration for John Denver. I know, he was a struggling alcoholic who flew his plane into the ground, but who hasn't?? The guy writes songs that MAKE you wanna see the mountains, MAKE you wanna see a marine research vessel, MAKE you imagine perfectly a country shack in the Appalachians...
ok, i'll shut up now. I'm just saying... he's one of the reasons I picked up a guitar in the first place, and I know I'm not alone on this one.
