Sput is in trouble a bit I think, doesn't seem to have the same atmosphere as it did just 6 months ago, the fact it is running badly 50% of the time doesn't help. The real characters like Potsy seem to have gone AWOL a bit. A shame because newish users like Butcherboy and Anatelier are putting up some great reviews/unearthing stuff.
I'm sitting on the fence with the Sufjan album, need to give it a few more listens, I do think there are probably at least 5 excellent songs there...it's just whether I just listen to them in isolation or whether the surrounding material starts pulling its weight.
I'll always stick about on RYM and Sput, it's seven weeks until I'm married and then I'll have two weeks on honeymoon. After that I'll probably be around the same as before. Depends a bit on where I'm at with the script writing. The Doof rec club will always be around.
Sorry mate, just saw your post - thanks man, yeah Benji is a really strong album. I still haven't checked the new Jason Isbell, should probably change that soon and maybe also check Something More than Free as well, Southeastern is still the only Isbell I've heard and I know that's a bad thing :/ Looking forward to seeing a Boney review for the new album though, if you still plan on writing one up!
Sput is a nightmare, just when I was getting back into visiting every day.... The new National song is really good, I miss the guitar interplay they do at the end in the live version, this one is really subtle (maybe too subtle?)
The National song is a strange one because it's all a slow build leading up to the last two and a half minutes really, I still think it's excellent though, should be a perfect latter tracklist number. The Tweedy album isn't up on Spotify yet but that's still on my list to check out. Saw the new Algiers album has 88% on Metacritic, not a band I know, so gave it a try - hated it intensely :D I picked up a copy of the new Slowdive today, bumped that rating to a 4.
