Hi, I'm Avid. I used to be ranked 48th in the RYM reviewers, but my position has been usurped by some young upstart. This is mainly because articulating one's thoughts into a well-written and detailed review is more time-consuming than it looks (bad jokes don't come easily to me, you know). These days, I am content to simply rate releases as I come across them and then review them later when/if the whim takes me. Perhaps one day I'll get round to writing up good quality film reviews too. We'll see...

P.S. People seem to take my username very seriously. "How can you be an 'Avid Music Fan'", I have been asked (usually sardonically), "if you have only listened to Pop/less than 500 albums/modern music?" To be honest, the username 'Voluntary Reviewer of Music, Films and (Occasionally) Books That I Come Across' doesn't really have the same ring to it... and besides, it was already taken!
