Such a disappointing title. The things that it does right are its pretty pixelated art and environment and music. The scenary feels that it should be made to explore, but there is very little reasons to do this beyond finding the bosses. Its very similar to Shadow of the Colossus in that regard. There is also quite a bit of Zelda feel in here.
Gameplaywise its very disappointing. For a game to be this hard the controls should be spot on perfect and they are far from it. For starters, it only allows you to aim the bow in 8 directions, which makes hitting the fast moving bosses who have very small windows of oportunity even harder. I feel that a lock on system should be a fair compromise. The bow also takes 0.5-1s or such to draw enough to be fireable, and this combined with the above point makes for frustrating boss fights. The rolling also has a cooldown which is bad, and there are no invincibility frames. The boss themselves are creative, each one in unique but in the end its all about creating the window of oportunity for a one hit kill with the bow. Everything kills you in one hit. I completly disagree about the statment about Dark Souls difficulty. This takes a completly opposite approach to making a challenging game. Whereas Dark Souls rewards patience, this one makes you want to finish things as fast as possible. There was a boss i defeated but then i died since i toutched the body before collecting the arrow. After that i tried the boss 20 more times and i died everysingle one of them. This doesnt happen in Dark Souls, at all. Many boss fights i won not because i deserved it more than any other time, but because the window of oportunity simply presented itself in a better way, and not because i created it.
So yea hugely disappointing game, even if i can see it does a lot of things right.

Titan Souls isn't a bad idea for a game but the execution is more painful for the player than necessary. This could've taken more lessons from Super Meat Boy on how games can handle frequent player deaths. Bosses are often cheap and difficult, made even harder by their tiny weak points. All together, it makes fights feel more based on luck than strategy: "this time the arrow went where I wanted it to.". The boring and confusing overworld hurts the rest of the experience.

those walks to the boss after death make this game pretty hard to get into. I feel like it was trying to do the whole "punishing but you improve" thing the Souls games did, but those games had enemies and shortcuts and level design between the checkpoints and bosses. this game is purely hallways.
Replying years later but this still stands. I'd say 90% of this game's bosses are fun little puzzles and the 3 hours runtime of the game means the mechanics don't outstay their welcome, a fun game when you've got an afternoon to mess around
Cept for that final one. Honestly kind of weirded out by the low rating.
