The Powerpuff Girls: Mojo Jojo A-Go-Go

Mojo Jojo, the evil chimpanzee, has stolen the towns jewels and created a robot army with them. Blossum, Bubbles, and Buttercup, collectively known as the Powerpuff Girls need to fly through Townsville, battling Mojo's robotic minions in the style of an old 2D side-scrolling flying shooter and re-collect the jewels.

The girls can attack with their laser beam eyes and punch with their fists. Although the close ranged fist attack isn't too useful, it can be used to pick up objects to throw at the robots to kill multiple enemies in one swift attack.

Each girl has a separate health bar, so it is a good idea to rotate to let the two girls in the back recover their health. There are plenty of power ups in the levels that can either increase your score, increase their offensive abilities, or give you multi directional laser beams. If you have collected the special star, you can unleash a powerful team attack.

The amount of enemies on screen can make it a very tricky game, especially when they are all firing projectiles at you. There is a target of how many jewels you need to collect in each level, with these targets seeming very challenging. So not only do you want to kill the enemies, but you also need to collect the jewel that is left behind which means the game is very difficult, which is surprising; given the target market for this game.

The graphics are decent and it successfully recreates the cartoon's feel, but sometimes certain projectiles are hard to see. The animations are nice, and sometimes the girls in the back ranks will often pull out pom-poms or rock on their guitars.

There are only 6 levels and each level feels fairly long. It would have been nice to have many more levels, including some shorter ones to mix it up. The locations do add a small amount of variety especially when there are sections that scroll vertically rather than just horizontally. Overall, 'Mojo Jojo A-Go-Go' is a competent and challenging side-scrolling shooter, but it does lack in content.
