T8 continues to nosedive in quality with every update. it all seemed so promising at launch, but the Eddy update is a disaster. they gave THE lab character, (who you can't lab unless you buy the deluxe edition btw), a hatchet kick and hellsweep. how much more gimmicky and 50/50 are they gonna continue this direction? these issues are only compounded with heat - which is such a miserable anti-tekken mechanic. neutral is good as dead in any match, and you can get a round on anyone no matter their skill if you just play gimmickly. defensive play IS tekken, and it's identity is being stripped away worse and worse with every update.

and despite all of this, they add a paid battle pass + paid item shop. even if that is just a decision from Bamco, it's maddening a $70 game can get away with it. in january, a significant part of T8's appeal was the fact all content was accessible without payment from the start, it feels like a proper bait and switch to see this direction, even if its cosmetic.

i dont see things getting better, so hmu and lets play Tag Tournament 2 instead since fan servers exist now lol

    Bad business practices aside, feels less like I am playing Tekken and more like it's just 50/50 - The Game. Oversimplified gameplay, never thought I'd say that about a Tekken game. At least I can still get matches playing 7

      or at the very least never buy a game until a year has passed. 5 was the last truly great tekken. maybe one day devs will just release games and call it a day
