There's a good game in here, just buried under layers of brutal unforgiving difficulty. Even dropping the difficulty from normal to easy doesn't make the game any easier. If this was on a console or PC and therefore let you see the whole screen at once, it'd be more tolerable. But having to track so many things while moving the screen around over and over just made this feel more anxiety-inducing than fun. As a result, I found the linear levels more fun than the sprawling multi-path ones.
It's a competent game overall that just begs for a polished HD remake. Otherwise, only recommended for tower defence junkies and those curious about SteamWorld's origins.
