Title
I think the majority of people will enjoy playing this game. The aesthetic is pleasing, a good amount of the music is up to par for Sonic standards, and the level design is pretty good. I have a problem with this game though. The entire reason I like old Sonic games is that the acts are short and the bosses go down fast. You can blow through those games, and there's replayability to be found in coming back and going through the whole gauntlet in one sitting. However after 2 playthroughs of Sonic Superstars I have no desire to ever play it again and it's because the game simply overstays its welcome. Some of the longest acts took me over 7 minutes to clear, and my skill level was not to blame. I would honestly be fine with that, though, if not for the BOSSES. These bosses are absolutely horrible! Unless you cheese it with emerald powers (which isn't fun and feels lame) you are going to be standing around or otherwise biding time for the majority of the fights. Even early game boss fights can take 2 MINUTES! And it gets so much worse. Playing a video game shouldn't feel like work but this one does. This isn't what Sonic is supposed to feel like.

    The hate for this game is something I find weird. It's solid, the easiest 8/10 I've ever given in my life and better than Sonic Frontiers (which for the record - I loved).

    The music is also fine and fits well, the problem is that it's uncharacteristic and isn't nearly as good as Mania's. But gameplay wise I think shit shots Mania to the ground.

    Too bad it underperformed. Both the reception and sales would've been much better if they delayed the release date and cut down the price to 40$ dollars, but past the release issue the game is fire imo.
