Considering the Cyber Chase movie is already structured like a video game, you would expect it to translate over to game form easily. This game unfortunately came out too early for its own good. Had this been a PS2 game, more 3D platformers could be used as a reference point. Instead, Cyber Chase heavily borrows from the gameplay style of Crash Bandicoot, which is already a frustrating and difficult game to begin with. Cyber Chase, as you might expect, ends up being a frustrating experience with its combination of slow movement, annoying camera angles, and epic troll level design. The game requires many precise jumps and, due to its abundance of pestering enemies with limited items to fight them with, some good projectile aim. Because the game wants to deliver the Crash Bandicoot experience, it features some 'vehicle' levels as well, that involve riding on a skateboard or a sled. The controls in these are also finicky, meaning most of this game is an unpleasant experience. Only the 'world traveling' aspect of these levels can keep this game interesting, but it isn't enough for someone with any kind of 3D platformer knowledge.
