    compared to other rougelites, and even ror1, ive seen this game have a weird problem with characters. like how everybody always has their mains and will rarely deviate from them unless they are unlocking things. its normal to have a favorite but for me and the people i play with like half of the cast is like playing a completely different, worse game. it isnt even a thing of like the lost in isaac i like REX and loader who i would say are the hardest and easiest characters in the game respectively but playing captain or acrid is like torture to me. i dont know why this is but its intreresting

      I don't really understand your problem here. I guess you're more used to an individualistic approach to variety, where everyone starts out on the same base but are given a range of tools to express their playstyle (think of games like Halo, Hitman/Thief and Call of Duty), rather than an archetype- or class-based approach, where the variety comes from the range of pre-determined archetypes or playstyles avaliable for selection (examples include: Team Fortress 2, the Street Fighter series, and this game).

    very addictive, even without mods I come crawling back to this game. maybe it's because i played it after the dlc came out, but i don't find this game to be repetitive at all, the sheer amount of content and unlockables are fantastic.
