Hero shooter

Hero (or class-based) shooters are team-based, typically arena-focused shooters with specific characters, generally referred to as "heroes". The games usually revolve around teams of players performing certain objectives before and/or against the opposing team. The genre draws inspiration from the MOBA genre, with each character having unique abilities. The roots of hero shooters can be traced back to the class-based Team Fortress Classic, with recent games such as Overwatch and Battleborn bringing the style a wider playerbase.
