Title
This game is an unashamed Dwarf Fortress clone. It knows this, and it takes this knowledge and makes something beautiful from it.

Is the game as vast and emergent as Dwarf Fortress? No, not really. Is it just as fun? Certainly. The active modding community on Steam really also cements this game's position as a modern classic.

Hundred of hours well spent
My go-to "time waster" game. I've probably played it over 700 hours but only finished it (building the rocketship) maybe once or twice.

A perfect game for those who enjoy spending hours and hours building a nice, fully equipped, well-guarded fort, only for it to be destroyed by Randy Random deciding that a manhunter pack of 80 rats is a good thing to happen while he also gives 7 of your 9 colonists Malaria, and yes, you better believe that the 2 no-malaria infected colonists are currently having a mental breakdown because of the current cold snap that's making even the warmest room in the base be at -30 celsius. Oh, and also one of them is a Pyromaniac and decided to burn your entire inventory, but hey, that might warm things up a bit when the rats eventually destroy the fort walls and everything gets even colder!

      The DLCs are great. Ideology is probably my favourite, really helps create flavour in the game.

      im ngl. i haven't played much with them. royalty seems really fun but im not sure how to access much of its content, looks like it's behind some quests. ideology is... really insane in how much it adds. almost overwhelming at times. but it's good

      to further add; biotech is probably my favorite mod for rimworld by far. children + self-made mechanoids are actually ridciulously fun, along with xenotypes. anomaly seems interesting, but... it does look admittedly a bit underwhelming

    Slowly climbing the charts. Would love to see it rank alongside Dwarf Fortress and Minecraft in the top 100. It deservedly gets talked about in the same breath. Crazily ambitious sandbox game.

    This may be the most addictive game ever. I recently returned after an almost 2 year absence, and I can see why I avoided it for that long because it consumes my life. I'm still on my first colony 128 hours in with base game only aiming to get the ship victory, but I'm excited to try out the DLC when that's done. One day I'll also get to Dwarf Fortress and Factorio.

    Insanely addicting, until it suddenly wasn't (thank god). Was all I could think or dream about for a month, and by the next month I knew I was done. If I ever open it again, it may very well be for another month straight. Special game.
