    Believe this is rated much higher because of its backstory. As the gameplay is cool, but just not really that interesting, let alone scary. Still a shame Silent Hills was cancelled.

      I think Resident Evil 7 and 8 qualify as noteworthy. Think also of Layers of Fear, Devotion, and the way that radio has been used in everything from Alan Wake 2 to the Oxenfree games. In any case, the games they're mentioning are quite noteworthy among horror fans; Visage, Madison, and Phasmophobia all have devoted followings, and there's no denying that Visage wants to be what P.T. didn't get to be. It's true that Amnesia and Outlast have been at least as influential, but I don't see the point of downplaying the place of honor this unreleased title holds among horror developers, both in its actual content and in the mythology surrounding it.

      Indeed a lot of clones were spawned. But those were pretty much just throw away horror games hoping to get some of the pt fame. Resident evil 7 could be influenced by pt, but there are way too many games similar to re7 to be able to chalk it up to pt.

    PT Emulation seems pretty decent at first glance. After The Short Message I really, REALLY want to experience P.T. even if fanmade through emulation.
