Ninja Gaiden II came only 2 years after the original Ninja Gaiden from Arcades and NES, but II was more or less the same thing. It plays and feels almost identical, it has the same cheap off camera enemies who knock you back, the same brutal guantlets, the same bullshit final boss setup, the same awkward platforming, the same cheesy story structure. The only real differences are this game you can climb up walls instead of just jumping between them and this is actually a really useful ability that I wish was in the first game. There are some other power ups that I hardly used since they consume ammo. But really it plays similar and is just as annoying as the first, it tricks you being easy when it starts but by World 3 you'll be wanting to pull your hair out and slam the controller. Its not quite as memorable as the first game and locations are more bland, but its really not too different and if you enjoyed the first its about the same except with added wall climbing and a final boss guantlet that at least lets you start at the beginning of the fight instead of the chapter.
