Some of the best first person combat I've ever experienced, which sounds crazy considering this game is being developed by 1 person. The combos are buttery smooth, dismemberment is hilariously satisfying, and the block/parry system gives you all the tools you need to be untouchable.
The art style is awesome and the graphics get the job done. My only complaint is that they can get a bit fatiguing on the eyes so I wish there were more options for reducing their intensity, but that's it.
Weapons come in a decent variety and they feel/play quite differently. The stat system is more rewarding than punishing, and the "curses" have big payoff potential if you're willing to deal with the risks. The quest system does a good job of incentivizing different styles/tactics with its rewards too. That said, this game is really tough, but in all the right ways. If you die, it's because you did something wrong. You will almost never die on stats alone. Most importantly, considering this is a roguelite, the fact I really look forward to each subsequent playthrough, even after a frustrating death, is the life blood of my enjoyment of this game. Axes, polearms, katanas, fists, speed builds, attack builds, defense builds, it's just so fun to make different builds and hurl them at hordes of enemies.
This game rocks.
