Mega Man X6

This game is absolutely atrocious. The positives are the fact that it's built using the same engine as X4 and X5, so it's relatively functional. I say relatively, because it's a buggy mess, this game feels rushed as hell.

The soundtrack is a shame, a huge shame. The reason being that they're all absolute bangers, some of the best in the X series even. Yet this amazing soundtrack is wasted on this horrible game.

The level design is frankly some of the worst I've seen in a videogame. Everytime you finish a stage you think to yourself "thank god, that was a drag", only to find out that the next stage you pick somehow one ups the previous one by being not only boring, but also frustratingly gimmicky.

The last positive thing is that somehow, despite everytinhg that is wrong with this game, it cannot claim the title of "worst X game" because of its unfortunate successor.

Okay I take back everything I said about any of the other previous X games, they were at least playable and functional games with only occasional terrible design, but X6 is easily one of the worst PS1 games I've played. Its just so terrible, there are too many frustrating and poorly designed levels. Theres one where you fight against a wheel boss and can only hurt it by shooting certain points on it that are super difficult to get and there are many other annoying platforming segments that will instantly kill you and cheese you. This game is just full of cheap moments and instant kills moments that it becomes more of a chore. The bosses in this game are terrible and hardly any fun, and the final boss in this is so boring. Only like 2 of the levels in this game were alright, the rest are just so poorly designed. This game is just a trainwreck and easily the worst of the X series. I can forgive the forgettable and generic design of the previous X games, but this is just poor design and feels almost as cheap as the first Mega Man game.
