An odd mashup of Tetris and Disney, entirely 2D and restricted to the d-pad despite being released on the N64. The "magic" here appears to be the so-called "magical" pieces which fall during games--either deformed and useless versions of classic pieces or giant square blocks, most of which ruin any winning lines you'd set up. Worse still is the main attraction in Magical Tetris Challenge: the story mode. Each playable character has a different story, though they all play out the same gameplay-wise and all make no sense. The characters often end up pitted against each other in Tetris battle under the guise of helping each other; for example, Mickey and Minnie battling each other apparently helps Minnie to bake some cookies, but only if you win. Aside from the lack of logic, the story contains other oddities such as Minnie being forced into marriage against her will by Pete. Creepy.
Low-effort, nonsensical and intentionally unfun thanks to the new and useless "magical" pieces, the only glimpse of a saving grace here is that the game has a hint of classic Tetris gameplay in it.
