Decent exploration horror game. The atmopshere reminds me of the movie Sinister, which is a very good thing. Gameplay wise, it's alright. It's obviosuly taken inspiration from Visage, but lacks most elements that made it interesting or scary in the first place. I'd say the problem with this game is that it doesn't know what it wants to be. Hans Goring? Blue Knees? Why not just focus on the Madison main storyline? Also, the voice acting from the main character is atrocious... they even included an option to mute the fucker. Perhaps the best part of the game is the puzzle sections. Not too obtuse and not as easy as to be insulting. The only problem is sometimes there are just many possibilities to take into account, and the game seems to make it intentionally confusing, so you gotta try anything that seems to make sense. I had this problem on the clock puzzle... there are just so many possible patterns that I found it overwhelming. Turned out the solution was simpler than I thought. I also advise playing this on the normal difficulty, since the enemies are just a hindrance and otherwise you'll have to look at every single pixel and take a picture of every single object. You don't want that. You'll enjoy it a lot more with some visual cues. Overall, not bad at all. I just really wish these kind of games would cut down on the cheap jumpscares. Gets quite tiring.
PS: I wouldn't really call it psychological: it's clearly supernatural..
Well put on all counts. I'd call it both psychological and supernatural, since there's a certain degree of indeterminacy. Supernatural definitely belongs in the mix, though.
