Title
The N64 port of Hydro Thunder is decent enough; the graphics and frame rate are good and the controls and handling are solid. Think Wave Race 64 but with boats instead of jet skis, not-as-good water physics, and crazy themed tracks.

I do wish the difficulty was better tuned, as it's a bit on the hard side and generally demands that you replay tracks to the point of near-perfection to achieve a standing good enough to advance, which can be repetitive and deflating.

It's fun, but a little difficult to recommend up against its superior sequel which arrived a long eleven years later in 2010.
