As an entry in the Project DIVA series, this is still pretty damn fantastic, even though the smaller list of tracks is kind of disappointing. But there are two things in here that put it a bit below most of the previous entries in my eyes:
1. The inclusion of a plot, which wouldn't be too bad if the writing wasn't pretty bland. It's not way too big of a deal here, but in the beginning before you actually start playing some songs it's a bit much.
2. This game allows you to pair any track in the game with another track's stage! While this is a nice inclusion, it came at the cost of having more complex MVs. Granted, it's not like tracks whose visuals play one solely on one stage for their entirety haven't been present in previous entries (and it's not as bad as some of the moments in the very first game in the series where the sole visuals on some tracks consist of still images), but the presence of MVs that are more than just that is missed.
The thing is that while playing the tracks themselves, I still get the same amount of joy that I got from the previous entries (and the aformentioned problems I have are pretty minor), so I personally can't really fault the game too much. But with that aside, this might be the weakest entry in the series when ignoring the first game (at least in my opinion that's biased towards these games).
