[PL] O dziwo, utrzymuje uwagę przez klimatyczne lokacje w 1. połowie, z biblioteką na czele. Mimo to słaby remaster, nostalgiczne autofelattio, feralna arena blisko finału, w której poziom trudności skacze mocno do góry.

Ghostbusters: The Video game seems like a movie tie-in, but in-fact has arrived 20 years after the last film and is a continuation of the story. Some of the cast of the film series; Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson return to do the voices and have their likeness represented in the game. The game features a heavy use of dialogue, and the script is humorous throughout which is written by Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd.
The story follows similar events to the films; an outbreak of ghosts in the city require the services of the Ghostbusters, and a more sinister plot develops involving cross-dimensional shifts intertwining the physical and spirit worlds. Your player, simply known as Rookie, is a new recruit and joins the more famous members of the team. Donned with a Proton Pack for zapping ghosts, you go through the 7 levels removing and capturing the ghosts.
The levels are destructible, so you can wreak lots of havoc as you play. The proton pack has four modes which become available as you play. The default mode, capture stream zaps the ghosts strength and is used to wrangle them into your trap. Its secondary weapon is the Boston dart which is a powerful blast. The second mode is a Shock Blast which is effective against certain enemies and the secondary weapon; Stasis Stream slows some enemies down. The third mode; Slime Blower fires goo which is good against certain type of enemies and fills up spawn points. Its secondary fire is the Slime Tether which is mainly used in puzzles. The last mode, the Meson Collider is a rapid fire and homing missile gun. As you collect or defeat ghosts, you are awarded money and you can purchase pack upgrades to make each type of gun stronger and more effective.
Graphically, the game is impressive but has a surprising gritty Gears of War look about it. Your character moves in a Gears of War-like manner too and has the same sprint move where you lack much horizontal control. At times, the game is surprisingly freaky/scary so may not be as suitable for children like you may expect.
In terms of combat, some ghosts disappear once their health bar is depleted, but the larger ghosts require capture. To capture them, you must weaken them, then throw down your trap, and wrangle them into it using the Capture Beam. Your team-mates will help you with your task but the battles can drag on for some time, mainly because you all get knocked down so many times. If you lose health, you will stay down until a team-mate comes to revive you. You will need to assist your fallen comrades too because sometimes they are too focussed on the battle rather than focussing on maintaining team-mates. Although they will capture the odd ghost, you do need to do the main graft. The constant knocking down becomes really annoying and frustrating because it drags the battles out for long periods of time and feels challenging throughout. If you can get over this frustrating battle aspect, it is surprisingly a great game and provides a great amount of entertainment.

If you've been on the internet at all during the past couple of years, you probably know of the outrage over the recent soft reboot of Ghostbusters. A good chunk of the outrage was complete bullshit, mind you, not focused on the idea that the film just seemed like a subpar comedy based on the trailers, but instead focused on the fact that the main cast was entirely female and the idea that "teh evul ess jay double-us" were ruining the franchise (even if it was only the first film that was actually any good so it's not like the series had too much of an actual legacy to "ruin"). There were some other smaller chunks of the outrage not related to that, though, with one of them being focused on the question of why it was a soft reboot in general and not a proper Ghostbusters 3.
The thing is that Ghostbusters 3 already happened. In the form of this game.
No, really. It's basically a sequel to Ghostbusters II, has the original cast returning for voices, and is even written by Ramis and Ackroyd. Why people didn't take notice of this is beyond me.

Not surprised that the only review of this game spends more than 50% of its words to complain about the outrage of GB3 instead of actually talking about the fucking game.
It was a bad movie. It got unnecessarily large amounts of bad press, and the original duology isn't exactly high art, but it fucking sucked. Jesus christ, get over it.
really love this game and how it feels, how it expands on the Ghostbusters lore that feels true to the original movie. Great set pieces and action, but hasn't aged amazing.
