This is basically a redone version of FF1 and FF2 with updated graphics to look like Final Fantasy 6. I actually started playing FF1 during my final week hanging out with friends before graduating, I waited in the dorm lobby we would hang out and started a game of this and named all my characters after my friends. I didn't get too far before my other friends arrived and we played Bully, but then a few months later around Halloween I continued playing this file, and it was around the time I was talking to this one girl things didn't work out with and after we stopped talking I played this that week and it was a nice little fantasy World to get lost in, even if the other FF games improved so much. My biggest complaint with FF1 is there are way too many random encounters and there are huge difficulty spikes, especially near the end where farming is absolutely necessary to progress, not to mention there are parts where figuring out where to go are just flat annoying.
After beating FF1, I started FF2 right away, and I remember that was around the time Pink Floyds album Endless River came out. 2 was a little worse, while it actually had a story, it had a stupid leveling system where you leveled individual skills the more you use them rather than just leveling everything in general. Aside from that, the World wasn't as memorable, and I didn't really care for the characters, but it wasn't horrible either, just pretty bland and a bit of a step down from the first game. So overall these are the essential versions of the first 2 games, and are decent RPGs, despite not having aged the greatest and being made a bit obsolete by the sequels. I enjoyed FF1 more than expected, and FF2 while not too great, does have its moments.

This version of Final Fantasy I is really close to being the perfect version. I really wish they would have kept the fighting mechanic where if your character would attack a monster but they died the attack just fizzles, other than that it's excellent though. II is still a terrible game that isn't fixed here
