I hear people complain about chapter 3 a lot, but as someone who calls Shenmue one of their favourite games of all time, the fetch quests there really didn't bother me ha.
Need's more of those Mario & Luigi dungeons and exploration segments (that are super satisfyingly) and A LOT less meandering cutscenes. The dialogue is cute and clever when it works, but there's just far too much. I often find my self thinking "get on with it" while playing.
This game is too misunderstood imo. Out of all the video games I played in 2021, I think about this one the most. Flawed but incredibly rewarding experience.
i think the idea is like, i feel like the way this game looks and how it's presented feels more indicative of a game that would get like a 3.6-3.7+ and still be like highly regarded, especially given its inspirations, but i basically hear no one really talk about it these days.
i haven't played it so i'm not sure how true that is or if that's at all a fair assessment
Bumped up from a 6 to a 7/10 for Earth Born.
