Duet is a twitch reaction based game in the same vein as Super Hexagon. In this game, you rotate a circle which is in the centre of the screen with the aim of avoiding the obstacles. This circle has two coloured dots on it. If the dots make contact with the obstacles, then you fail the level.
When you are hit, your dots explode into paint which is then splattered on the obstacle. So when you retry, you can see where you have failed and how often. This is a great aesthetic. The game looks basic but is very crisp. I really liked the way it looks.
The game took me around 6 hours to complete. I assume the levels were split into three sections because they were released at different times. There' s new types of obstacles in the “Epilogue” and “Encore” sections.
It's one of those games that will make you rage, but in an enjoyable way. You will keep trying and trying until you overcome the challenges thrown at you. It has an addictive quality to it, so you will always want to return later.
