Played this game a good amount as a kid and thought it was a blast. There's pros and cons to the game that can make or break your enjoyment.
Pro:
- Exploration: Really cool exploration in this game, huge map and really interesting worlds for the most part that offer lots of places to climb and explore.
- Characters: If you watched Cartoon Network as a kid, chances are most of your favorite characters were in this game.
- Collectibles: Cool items that overall added a lot of character to the game.
- Platforming: This game has some cool platforming sections in the infected zones, but you can also do lots of your own parkour throughout the game, by climbing on buildings, trees, and much more.
- Visuals: Obviously it's a bit dated but I think the game has a cool look.
- Pacing: Unlike it's competitor
Toontown Online, it's not particularly grindy, and the game picks up pretty quickly.
Cons:
- Combat: Combat is super basic, still playable, but essentially a hack and slash with guns where you can't really dodge attacks. Only way to get an edge on enemies is with your nanos, which use a rock-paper-scissors type mechanic depending on the type of enemy and nano.
- Story: Pretty basic post-apocalyptic
time travel plot
- Some of the missions feel a bit boring/walky. Once you get vehicles later in the game though it'll be a lot faster.
This review is based off what I remember from playing it years ago and from playing the
fan made remake for a few days. My rating is probably biased, but this game was a lot of fun. Would recommend.
