I feel incredibly disillusioned with this game in retrospect. It had so much promise, and it plays so well, yet there is so little that leaves me wanting to play it more that it's downright depressing to think about. I am so bummed about it especially as I know it could be so much more than what we ended up receiving.
That's just one person, so you could ask them. Personally I see valid reasons to not rate this highly, with how much of a massive disappointment this game ended up content-wise.
The biggest problems in this game are poor customization options (due to a fact that it was designed as a live service game, poorly at that) and the horrible post-launch support with priority towards piecemeal DLC content having 3-6 wrestlers per season pass for $15 each. I'm not the biggest fan of WWE 2K games, but at the very least they managed to follow the trend of the company they represent by actually improving the product, and adding much requested features that people already expected and didn't get with Fight Forever, like GM Mode, which AEW thought would be good to instead turn into a separate mobile game which doesn't even function anymore.
"Will you take a look at the ratings? If it wasn't for your condenscending behaviour and you incessantly making us work on very strict deadlines, we could've left a better impression on launch date-"
"Just bring it!"
"Shut your mouth!"
