Battle royale

Battle royale games combine elements of a survival game with 'last man standing' gameplay. Large numbers of players start on a vast map space with minimal equipment and must scavenge for weapons and other supplies to eliminate all other opponents and remain the last player or last team standing. The genre itself was inspired by the movie Battle Royale [バトル・ロワイアル].
