Hopefully people actually give it a chance despite the weak presentation for the sidescrolling segments. The core gameplay is completely intact with additional features and QoL upgrades. The city-building segments in particular are incredibly expanded. And the new arrangements from Koshiro are fantastic.

  Same, I've been having a blast though that opening area is really rough pacing wise to the point I considered just dropping it there. It really does get better from Bloodpool on but I hope the over-tutorialization of the first area doesn't turn people away because Renaissance really is a nice little revisit past that initial hurdle

They should have stuck with pixel art. The new art style and animations look bad.
