Watched Triple Jump play it on their joint stream. Oh man, it wanted to be Dead Space so badly and in some ways it succeeds. It's look good, very grimdark visuals. But otherwise it just falls short at every hurdle: it's too combat heavy; boss fights are just tests of endurance; the dodge mechanic is bad; the inventory management is 90% ammo; and so on. Definitely one of those times that I was glad to watched other people play it, rather than go through the experience myself.

Played a bit of the start with Rose, alternating turns with the controller but I decided fairly early on that I wasn't keen on the combat of the game, so opted to have Rose play out the rest of it. The world lore is really good. Very compelling apocalyptic sci-fi narrative with hints that are dropped through-out the game that really draw the player forward. On the other hand, pretty poor character writing, not a single interesting or particularly likable character in the game really, and that includes Aloy herself.
